Tom O'Gorman, MBA

Group

Tom joined AP Wealth Management in 2016, bringing over 15 years of experience in the investment industry. Tom advises clients from all walks of life – from retirees to business owners to those who have experienced unexpected changes in life. Tom loves his job because he believes each client is unique, and helping them manage their way through life with sound financial advice is very rewarding. His career path is not a traditional one for advisors, but it has given him a perspective that many advisors don’t have.

As a fee-only financial advisor, I help clients make sound financial decisions in an uncertain world. We focus on clients’ individual goals and create a roadmap to success. When working with clients, rule #1 is that each person is unique so their roadmap to success must be unique as well.

Following graduation from Fairfield University in Connecticut, Tom began a career in corporate finance, working for Coca-Cola Bottling, Altria, and the former American Can Co. During that time, Tom earned a double MBA in Finance and International Business from NYU’s Stern School of Business. Tom moved into the wealth management industry in 2001 and formed his own Registered Investment Advisory firm (RIA) in 2012. In 2016, Tom merged with AP Wealth Management helping them become one of the top advisory firms in the area.  At AP Wealth Management, the client always comes first and benefits from the fantastic resources, team, and collaborative approach central to the AP Wealth Management business model.

Tom believes that proper asset allocation and his ability to maintain a long-term focus have been key to his clients’ success.  In addition to working with individuals and families, Tom also serves as a financial advisor for small businesses, advising the owners on maximizing cash flow and helping them implement 401(k) plans.

When Tom isn’t working, he is often found on the golf course enjoying an afternoon with friends. Tom is also an avid reader with a particular interest in books by Michael Lewis, the late James Michener, and Nelson DeMille. He and his wife remain busy keeping up with four children, guiding them through the challenges of early adulthood.
